Synopsis: Haku Mele is a documentary that celebrates Queen Liliʻuokalani’s enduring legacy as a composer and poet through contemporary performances by The Liliʻu Project musical ensemble, expert interviews, and dramatic reenactments. The film centers on the Queen’s artistic brilliance and its power to inspire modern activism and cultural sovereignty. Ultimately, it highlights her message of hope and resilience as a guiding force for the lāhui today.
